About Julie Fei-Fan Balzer

Julie Fei-Fan Balzer is a maker whose primary interests are collage, acrylic painting, surface design, printmaking, paper engineering, quilting, and mixed media art. ​Her artwork has been exhibited in New York City at The Art Students League and at F.I.T. as well as in the Boston area at the Mosessian Arts Center and the University Place Gallery.

Julie is an author. Her book Carve Stamp Play was released by Interweave Press in December 2013. ​She has also been a contributor to multiple books including Gelli Plate Printing, Journal It, Scrapbook Workshop, and Artful Adventures in Mixed Media, among others. She has been a columnist or contributor to multiple magazines including Cloth Paper Scissors, CPS Pages, CPS Studios, I {Heart} Paper, Quilting Arts Gifts, Quilt Scene, Creating Keepsakes, Better Homes & Gardens’ Scrapbooks Etc., Memory Makers, Scrapbook Trends, Somerset Memories, Simple Scrapbooks, and multiple international publications.

Julie is a teacher. She teaches in-person and online classes.

Julie is a blogger, vlogger, and podcaster. She blogs about art and creativity Monday through Friday. Every Wednesday she posts a new vlog on her YouTube channel. Every other week you can listen to the "Adventures in Arting Podcast," which she hosts along with her Mother, Eileen Hsü-Balzer.

Julie is a product designer.  She designs stencils for The Crafter's Workshop and stamps for Art Foamies and Impression Obsession. She also consults on product development and marketing.

Julie is a product spokesperson. She is delighted to be the spokesperson for the Brother ScanNCut. It is a machine that she loves and uses.

Julie is a TV and video personality. She is the host of Make It Artsy on PBS. She previously hosted Scrapbook Soup TV (PBS) and has made multiple appearances on Quilting Arts TV (PBS), Scrapbook Memories TV (PBS), and Crafting at The Spotted Canary (PBS). You can also catch her every now and then on HSN (Home Shopping Network). She has extensive experience as on-air talent in infomercials, product feature videos, and instructional videos.

Julie live in the Boston, MA area and is a graduate of Brown University.
