About Kids In Need Foundation
The Kids In Need Foundation’s mission is to ensure that every child is prepared to learn and succeed by providing free school supplies nationally to students most in need. The Kids In Need Foundation, a national 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in 1995, has distributed nearly $800 million in school supplies, directly benefiting 4.8 million students and more than 150,000 teachers annually. For more information, visit kinf.org, and join us at twitter.com/kidsinneed & fb.com/kidsinneed.
KINF and CHA have a long history of working together to provide school supplies for students who would otherwise go without. Each year, at the close of CHA’s annual premier creative arts industry event, Creativation, CHA members participate in the show harvest – an opportunity to donate excess arts and craft materials to KINF Resource Centers. Since 2003, CHA members have donated more than $1.8 million in supplies to directly benefit the 4.5 million students and 150,000 teachers the Kids in Need Foundation serves nationwide.
The importance of creativity in the lives of children cannot be understated. Creative and crafting activities have been proven to improve cognitive development, problem-solving skills, motor-skills and self-expression among young participants. The Craft & Hobby Association and its members remain committed to the importance of art education in the classroom and in the home. Our work will help extend the healing reach of creativity to children around the country and will make a positive difference in their lives.
